Western Australia’s Newest Community Orchestra

Northern Lights Music W.A.
at a Glance

Exciting new and vibrant community orchestra, established 2020.

Our orchestra aims to provide opportunities for young musicians, and those not so young but young at heart, to grow in experience, confidence and enjoyment through orchestral participation. Likewise, our orchestra aims to provide the local community with opportunity to enjoy orchestral performances that are fun, affordable and accessible.

Northern Lights Music (NLM) will provide a safe and enjoyable place to grow musically and in confidence through orchestral and ensemble playing. NLM welcomes members of the community both young and young at heart, those who have been playing just a few years, those who have been playing somewhat longer, and those who may not have played in quite some time. It is a place for individuals and for families to enjoy making quality music together, a place to be encouraged and to encourage.

Music Directors

Community Orchestra Director
Jennylynne Andrews

So why Northern Lights Music? Jennylynne wanted to create a safe and enjoyable place, accessible to all, no matter their age, ability, or background, a place where family members can make music together, those who like the sense of community, who like passing on their knowledge to the next generation of musicians. And a place where we can share the love of music with the community in which we live. A place to belong. That place is Northern Lights Music.

Hannah Andrews

Why Northern Lights Music? Since moving down to Mandurah and now Rockingham, Hannah has seen the lack of opportunity for music involvement within the community. Having taught down that way for years, Hannah noticed that there wasn’t anywhere for her students to further develop their music or connect with like-minded musicians. So she decided to do something about it. Northern Lights Music is that something.
